Today I got a random email from eHarmony – which is so funny because I don’t obviously have an account with them, and I never usually get emails from them. I was just about to delete it, when the subject line caught my eye; “Top 5 Signs You’re Dating the Right Guy”. So I decided to have a look, out of curiosity to see what they said.

These are the top 5 signs that a relationship works:

1. You bring out the best in each other, not the worst. You encourage each other to grow personally, professionally and emotionally, recognizing that change is positive and healthy.

2. You trust each other and can count on one another to do the right thing. There’s no jealousy or second-guessing in the relationship.

3. You have fun together. Playfulness adds spice, and laughter is an aphrodisiac.

4. You share common core beliefs and values. Connecting on an emotional and spiritual level can be just as powerful as a physical connection.

5. You communicate with each other out of care and concern instead of judgment and criticism. Think about it this way: What’s your tone of voice like when you’re critical and judgmental? It’s hard to have a harsh tone when you speak out of care and concern.

I knew that we would nail all of these – before I even looked. But I just love the validation that we are perfect together. Our support of each other, our open communication, and complete trust of one another are perfect examples of why we get along so well. Not to mention the fact that you are only slightly more perverted than I am – which makes our senses of humor fit so well. Who knew that there was a man out there as perfect for me as you? You are the best surprise that I have ever received, and I will never take you for granted – ever. I love you so much, Wes. Soooo much. And I promise that I always will.

So I guess I dropped the ball tonight. I’ve not felt this way before, since you sent that text message about Dan. I can’t appologize enough because I feel that I broke a chain in our love. I want you to know that I trust and I don’t want to seem like the crazy ex that you had, who accused you at every turn.

I want you to go out with your friends, even if they are guys, I want your emails to be private, and I want you to feel as if you can tell me anything. This is what makes our relationship strong, and jealousy – whatever the form- is toxic and I refuse to let that in our relationship.

So please hear me when I say sorry for missunderstanding you and being quiet when I got the text. The key is giving you the benefit of the doubt and that’s what I will do, as always.

I love you Jessica, and it is though our trust that we will be strong.

Today is the day that we shared a connection one year ago. I remember it clear as day, our first date ALONE! I can remember being so nervous but also so excited to have met someone that I shared a connection with. You struck me as someone who was not only beautiful on the outside, but beautiful on the inside. Someone who I could see myself with for the rest of my life because I knew you would complete it. Jess, you mean the world to me and I would do anything to bring that world to you. I know school is getting in the way of our closeness, but this is a good test for us! If we can survive this, then imagine the other obsticals we can conqure together.

We are a true couple, a perfect fit, twin souls. I think about you all the time, every day, because you are that other part of me. I just cannot wait till the day we walk down the aisle together and become one together.

It’s been a while since I posted in here, I just got back from our first Christmas together. What a wonderful time spent with you and your family and my family, and of course, together. I can’t stop thinking about you and how much you mean to me and the things you do for me! I really think we make a great team with our open communication and our pure love for each other. I would do anything for you Jess and I hope you know that.

So here I sit, at my computer, thinking about you and counting down the days until I see you next. I know I won’t ever take the time with you for granted and that I will love you the most, always!
